Metallic shimmers

It is getting really cold now and this usually means its time to wrap up! But before I wrap myself in coats and hide my legs in tights, I wanted to wear autumn trends to my hearts content! Autumn catwalks were full of colours and trends that I love and adore.

One of my favourite trend for this was the metallics. Clothes, makeup, shoes, bags, anything with metallics is in this season.

Personally, I love anything gold, silver or glittering and hence when I saw this trend on the catwalks, I was really pleased. I was sure I could find something in my existing wardrobe that had some metallic element to it and voila!

I found a few pieces in my wardrobe that I absolutely love and when  put them together, they looked like a completed outfit rather than bits and pieces with metallics put together.

The blazer is from H&M. I got it last autumn and have worn it a lot since then! The brown and gold tweed-ish detailing instantly makes any outfit dressier. I will add however, that you have to be very careful with this blazer as it is fairly delicate. The detailing is almost like the brick wall in the background and makes it me often think of it as the brick blazer.

The skirt is from Zara and I love it. I bought this last autumn as well and it was a very popular design then. I have seen at least four women in my office wear the same skirt. We often joke that it's the office uniform.

The truth however is, it is one of those easy, lazy skirts. You don't have to put a lot of effort in putting an outfit together with a skirt like this. It  makes it easy to transform the outfit from day to night, where you can wear it to work during the day and then wear it for some after work cocktails as well. Also, its a great piece transitional piece between summer and autumn.

Finally, the shoes are from New Look and look a lot more fancier than they are. I love the design and was looking for something like this for a really long time. They are quite high and are fairly comfortable. It does take some time to get used to them though as they don't have a platform heel.

All I'm glad autumn is full of colour this year even if its gold! Who wants to wear boring muted colours when you can wear something that makes you feel so festive.
